This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Bromley Man and Van in respect of our operations and supply chains. It sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and to promote ethical practices throughout our network of suppliers and partners.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

Bromley Man and Van has a clear zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, and all forms of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery does not take place within our own operations or our supply chains.

Every member of our team is expected to uphold this commitment. We will not knowingly conduct business with any individual, organisation, or supplier involved in modern slavery or human trafficking, and we reserve the right to terminate relationships where credible concerns arise.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Bromley Man and Van provides removals, transportation, and related logistical services. Our supply chains include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging vendors, subcontracted drivers and porters, and providers of premises and outsourced services.

We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain may present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where lower-skilled or temporary work is involved. We are committed to understanding these risks and tailoring our controls and checks accordingly.

Supplier Standards and Audits

We expect all suppliers and subcontractors to share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our onboarding and ongoing management of suppliers, we aim to:

Require suppliers, where appropriate, to confirm that they comply with all relevant labour, employment, and human rights legislation in the jurisdictions in which they operate. Communicate our zero-tolerance stance on modern slavery and require suppliers to take reasonable steps to ensure that exploitation does not occur within their own operations or supply chains.

We will conduct proportionate risk-based checks and audits of key suppliers, focusing on those where the risk of labour exploitation is assessed to be higher. These reviews may involve requests for information about employment practices, use of subcontracted labour, and steps taken to prevent modern slavery. Where necessary, we will seek improvements or corrective actions, and we may cease working with suppliers who fail to meet our standards.

Staff Awareness, Responsibilities, and Reporting Channels

Bromley Man and Van promotes awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff and subcontractors. We inform team members of the signs of possible exploitation, such as evidence of coercion, restriction of movement, withholding of documents, or unusually poor working and living conditions.

All staff are encouraged to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking encountered in the course of their work. Concerns can be raised with line managers, senior management, or through internal reporting routes. We will treat all reports sensitively, investigate them promptly where appropriate, and take action if wrongdoing is identified.

No one raising a genuine concern in good faith will suffer retaliation or detrimental treatment for doing so.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Bromley Man and Van recognises that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility and that our approach must be reviewed and improved over time. We are committed to reviewing this Modern Slavery Statement and our related practices on at least an annual basis or sooner if there are significant changes in our operations, supply chains, or relevant legislation.

As part of the annual review, we will consider the effectiveness of our controls, the outcomes of any supplier audits, any concerns raised through reporting channels, and developments in best practice. We will then update our policies, procedures, and training where necessary to strengthen our approach.

This statement has been approved by the management of Bromley Man and Van, who take overall responsibility for ensuring that it is implemented, communicated, and maintained throughout the business.
